Anna's POV
Anna took her seat in math class. High school was boring. You honestly mean I have to spend three more years in this place? She thought as she took out her book and note pad. Her long blue bangs making it hard to see what the teacher was writing. To Anna all her math teacher ever wrote or spoke was 'Blah blah blah blah blah." ect. ect. Anna pushed her bangs aside. She started doodling in her notebook. Her fingers ran over already drawn lines. The sun shone through the window beside her desk. Although Anna could see storm clouds over head. It'd better pass, Anna thought, or else my other surprise will be ruined. Class was the same as always. Boring. Anna had always said there were things you'd never be able to detect in life,
1) old person eyebrow hair on your toothbrush
2) sleeping gas in math class
Anna mostly didn't pay attention. She never did in math. She just learned the concepts from Etoile when she filled Anna in. After math class, Anna met up with Claire, her other friend. They walked down the hall. School for them was over. Etoile would usually meet them at the school gates.
"So, I gotta babysit my neighbors daughter tonight, wanna help?" Claire asked.
"Sure, but Etoile and I have to make a quick stop on the way." Anna said.
"Mkay, I'll meet you there?" Claire said.
"Okay." Anna said. The girls parted directions. Etoile was propped up against a wall reading a book.
"Sup bookworm?" Anna said approaching her friend. Etoile gave her a smile.
"So are we gonna go to that smoothie-"
"Nope. I have a special place." Anna said smiling.
Etoile slightly frowned.
"If we have to sneak in, I don't wanna go." Etoile said.
"No no, none of that." Anna said grabbing her hand and pulling her.
The walked in the direction of the main intersection. The highway buzzed atop their heads as they crossed the street. Anna pulled Etoile through old bronze gates. The park. It was a good day to come. They stopped under a tree. Anna opened her pack,
"Wanna piece of gum?" She asked. Etoile hesitated.
"Don't worry I didn't poison it." Anna promised. Etoile smiled and took it. They popped their gum in there mouth.
"So, what's the meaning of this little trip?" Etoile asked.
"Nothing, I just wanted to eat gum in the park after school." Anna said.
"So what are we doing after this?" Etoile asked.
"I promised Claire we'd help her babysit tonight." Anna said.
"Who are we watching?"
"Lightning and Justin." Anna replied.
"Ah I see." Etoile said. The girls talked for a while.
"We should probably go change at home now." Anna said. Etoile just nodded. The girls walked home in mostly silence. Anna and Etoile parted in their separate directions. Anna unlocked her door. Her younger sister, Marissa, was doing homework.
"Hey." said looking over her sisters shoulder.
"Hey." Marissa said without looking up.
"Can you tell mom and dad I'm going to help Claire with something tonight?" Anna asked.
"Mhmm." Marissa said. Anna smiled. But just in case Anna left a note on the fridge. Anna's bangs were getting in the way, she pushed them behind her ears. She taped it to the fridge and went upstairs to change into more comfortable clothes. Anna wore a blue hoodie a pink tank top and jeans. She put on her converse and was out the door. She walked to Claire's street. She knocked on Claire's neighbors door. Diana answered.
"Hello Anna." She said.
"Hey I'm here to help Claire." Anna said.
Diana let her in. Claire and Lightning were on the couch. Lightning was a pretty child. She had chocolate brown hair and emerald green eyes. Josh was coming down the stairs. He waved and was out the door. Diana followed him. A few minutes after Lightning's parents had left, Etoile showed up. She was wearing a green skirt and a white top. Her red hair pulled back in a high ponytail.
"Looking good." Anna said. Etoile smiled.
"Thank you." Etoile entered.
She plopped down on the couch by Lightning.
"So what did you two do after school?" Claire asked.
"Park." Anna said. Etoile nodded.
"Ah." Claire said. Passions was on.
"CHANGE THE CHANNEL!" Anna and Claire said. Etoile smirked.
The kept changing the channel.
"Nothings on." Anna said.
"Game?" Etoile asked.
"TRUTH OR DARE." Anna and Claire shouted startling Lightning. They also heard faint crying from upstairs. Etoile laughed.
"Wow." Claire ran upstairs to go see what Justin was up to.
Lightning just settled back into her blanket.
